Grace Farnsworth Wilkins, age 90, of Vernal passed away Jan. 12, 2012, at her daughter's home surrounded by her family.

Grace was born Sept. 18, 1921, in Rains, Utah, to Philo T. and Hazel Thayne Farnsworth. She married Aaron Ashley Wilkins Sept. 9, 1940 in Vernal. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died Nov. 6, 1986.

Grace was raised in Mountain Home, one of 11 children. She moved to Vernal after marrying Aaron. She was a wonderful seamstress, from sewing most of her children's clothes to altering outfits for others at her fabric store in Vernal. She was talented cook and gardener, always having a beautiful flower and vegetable garden. She loved her family and found great joy in her grand and great grandchildren.

She served in many capacities in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving as the relief society president, working in the primary and in the cubs scouting program.

She is survived by her children, George Aaron (Karen) Wilkins, SLC; Diane Peltier, Vernal; Julia (Neil) Williams, Castaic, Calif.; Nanette Wilkins, Tualatin, Oregon; Suzann (Douglas) Smuin, Vernal; 13 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, siblings, Leah (Jerry) Bassett, Murray, Utah; Veloy Bird, SLC; and Dee (Ilene) Farnsworth, Grace, Idaho.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Aaron Ashley Wilkins, daughter, Gerri, son-in-law, James Peltier, siblings, Afton Mackie, Laura Cummings Rex, Leo, Clair, Lon, and Durell Farnsworth.

Funeral services will be held Tues., Jan. 17 at 11 a.m. at the Davis 4th Wards LDS Chapel. Friends may come Tuesday 1 hour prior to the service.

Burial in the Vernal Memorial Park under direction of the Hullinger Mortuary.

The family would like to thank the nursing staff at the Good Shepard Hospice for there wonderful care of mother.
