They lived in Provo for three years and started their family there. Bonnie Gene was born in 1928. The family moved to Lead, South Dakota where Leon worked as a miner. JoAnn was born in Lead in 1931. Leon and Alyce lived in Lead for 30 years. During that time Leon served in Europe in World War II from February 1944 through the end of the war.
In 1962 Leon and Alyce moved to Fountain Green, Utah where they lived until Leon's death in 1972. Alyce was with her daughter, Bonnie, when she died.
Funeral services were held in Provo on December 28, 1983. Interment in Provo City Cemetery.
