Our cherished mom, Kathryn Brown Penrose, age 91, left us for a better place May 7, 2003 after a three day illness.
She was born Aug 16, 1911, the fourth daughter of loving parents Ernest S. and Lucy Shaw Brown. They preceded her in death as well as her sisters, Phyllis Bassett, Arvilla Davis, and Lucille Willeiksen. They will share a joyous reunion with "Kaye" and her sweetheart, Robert McQuarrie "Penny" Penrose, with whom she celebrated 70 years of marriage prior to his death April 4, 2002. Penny and Kaye filled those 70 years with humor and enduring love, and were a wonderful example of devotion for their family.
Mom kept a tidy home and enjoyed keeping her two daughters healthy, happy and in line, making their clothes, embroidering and gardening.
Survived by daughters, Bonnie K. (Allen) Hill, Robyn (Ken) Thompson; nine grandchildren; 24 great-grand-children; and one great great-grand-son.
Our sincere appreciation to the care givers at Bountiful House and 4th floor nurses at Salt Lake Regional Medical Center for their kindness and concern, and to Gene Aguilar whom she loved.
Services will be Tues. May 13, 2003 12 noon Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, where friends may visit 11-11:45 a.m. prior to the service. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 S. Redwood Rd.
