Eighth child and the third son of Anthony and Sarah Chamness. Married in 1769 in Alamance Co., N.C. to Margaret Evans Williams (Born 1755. Parents were William and Margaret nee-Evans Willams). The Cane Creek Meeting disowned Anthony, Jr. and he left the group. Search for Anthony, Jr. revealed that he on 8 Jun 1811, witnessed the will of George Harrison, of East Nottingham, Chester Co., Pennsylvania. He applied for membership in the East Nottingham Meeting 8 Apr 1814 and was admitted to membership 6 May 1814. Father of Joab (1775-1818). Death and burial source: Maryland Quaker Records: Nottingham Monthly Meeting, Cecil County Book F - 1808-1836. Anthony and probably Margaret are buried on the cemetery side close to the church. Headstones were not used by Friends at this time.
The holder of this memorial is a direct descendent of this man.
