Henry Charles Sommer of 4 Council St., a retired cabinetmaker, died at his home yesterday morning.
Funeral and burial services will take place at 3 o'clock tomorrow in Aiken.
A prayer services will be held at 5 o'clock this afternoon at McAlister's Funeral Chapel.
Born in Charleston, Feb. 8, 1867, he was a son of the late Frederick Edward Sommer and Mrs. Josephine Emeneker Sommer, both of Germany.
Mr. Sommer attended schools of Charleston. He was associated as a cabinetmaker with Haverty Furniture Co. for a number of years prior to his retirement.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Norman Keenan, Mrs. Marguerite Isaac, Mrs. Alvin H. Luden and Mrs. Victor B. O'Driscoll, all of Charleston; four sisters, Mrs. D. M. George, Ramsey George, Mrs. David Prothro and Mrs. Flint Hendrix, all of Aiken; 10 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
