AIKEN, Oct 15— (Special)— Funeral services for William J. Sommer, 80, who died at his home at Montmorenci at 7 o'clock Tuesday night will be conducted from the Montmorenci Baptist Church at 4 o'clock Thursday afternoon by the Rev. George Needs, assisted by the Rev. J. C. Hughes.
Mr. Sommer, a lifelong resident of Aiken County and a devoted member of Montmorenci Baptist Church, was a farmer and mechanic until ill health forced his retirement. His death followed a long illness.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Willa Seigler Sommer; one son, W. Roy Sommer of Montmorenci; five sisters, Mrs A. D. Hoffman, Mrs. F. H. Hendrix ,Mrs. J. D. Prothro, Mrs. D. M. George and Mr. D. R. George, all of Aiken; one brother, Henry G. Sommer of Charleston; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
