Alex Garnett, 72, Madison route 5, died at 7:00 A.M. Sunday at King's Daughters Hospital here due to injuries sustained Sept. 26 in a tornado. Garnett and his wife, Minnie were attending a reunion in the Deputy area of Jefferson County, northwest of Madison when the storm hit around 6:30 P.M. Mrs. Garnett, 75, also was admitted to the hospital where, she is still a patient.

Funeral services for Garnett will be held at 2 P.M. Wednesday at the Vail Funeral Home here with burial in the Vevay Cemetery. Persons may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Tuesday.

A native of Owen County, KY., Garnett was born June 15, 1904 to William and Susie Tackett Garnett. He married the former Minnie Lawson. He was a retired farmer and had lived in Madison for the past 12 years.

Other survivors include a son, Donald Ray Garnett, Norwood Ohio; four sisters and three brothers; two grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
