CLINTWOOD, Va. Elizabeth Ann Arrowood Sheppard, age 73, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Jan. 13, 2012, at the Dickenson Community Hospital.

Mrs. Sheppard was the daughter, of the late Gilbert and Oma Bise Arrowood. She attended Bethel Baptist Church in Parkersburg, W.Va. and was a member of the Peuther Chapel Church in Clintwood. Mrs. Sheppard was a 1956 graduate of Clintwood High School. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, James Hoyt Sheppard. Survivors include two daughters, Oma Mae Davis and husband, Richard of Parkersburg and Beth Ann Sheppard of Bise Ridge, Clintwood; two granddaughters, Sarah Elaine Hickel and husband, Jesse of Parkersburg and Rachel Marie Davis and fianc‚, Derek Combs of Columbus, Ohio; three great- grandchildren, Alley, Kloe and Jessee James Jr. of Parkersburg; two brothers, Billy Arrowood and wife, Bernice of South Hill, Va. and Jimmy Arrowood and wife, Nancy of Boydton, Va.; one special nephew, Jeff Arrowood of Richmond, Va.; two sisters-in-law, Shirley Packer and Shirley Sheppard both of Parkersburg; brother-in-law, Don Sheppard and wife, Carolyn of Waverly, Ohio; two uncles, Tom Bise and wife, Gay of Clintwood and Verden Arrowood and wife, Mary of Johnson City, Tenn.; many cousins, nieces, nephews and other family members.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Peuther Chapel Church with Pastors Joe Glenn Sluss and Lynn Vanover officiating.

Burial will follow at the A.L. Bise cemetery on Bise Ridge.

Pallbearers will be Freddie Robinson, Derek Combs, Keith Edwards, Kemper Damron, Max Hillman and Ronald Jack Baker. Clintwood High School Class of 1956 will serve as honorary pallbearers.
