Mrs. Margaret Boardman died at her home near Wheaton Friday, April 2, 1909 of diabetis. She had been in poor health for more than a year. She was born at Rochester, New York, September 12, 1830.
She was married to Robert Dougherty- Sept. 1, 1856. To this union was born one son and three daughters, Lorenzo Dougherty, White Cloud, Ks. Mrs. Mary A. Sullivan, Merrill, Wis., Mrs Ida G. Rodgers, deceased and Mrs Clara B. Whitley, Blaine. She was left a widow July 30, 1865.
She married, George Boardman, April 11, 1867. To this union was born one son and one daughter, Mrs Hattie McIrvin, Colby, Ks. & Eli Boardman, Wheaton, Ks.
Mr and Mrs Boardman and family came to Wamego in 1870 and the following year moved up to the farm upon which the wife has since lived near Wheaton. Geo. Boardman died thirty years ago. Mrs Boardman united with the Baptist church thrity two years ago and has always lived a consistant Christian life. The funeral services were held Saturday at 3 p.m. at the Wheaton Congregational church. Rev. L. O. Smith of Havensville conducted the services. The body was buried in the Wheaton cemetery.
