A native of Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late Jim and Sue Ayers Carter. She was a member of the Emmanuel Church of Christ.
Funeral services were conducted Monday afternooon at the Fayetteville chapel of the Ralston-McCauley Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronnie Adams and Rev. Mureal Meade officiating. Burial iin the Riverview Memorial Gardens.
She is survived by two sons, William Vaughn of Taft and Homer Vaughn of Shelbyville, one sister Mammie Bradford of Fayetteville; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
