Tom's death date is actually Nov. 10, 1953, not Nov. 11, as the marker at his grave indicates. All of Tom's brothers and sisters except one, his wife (Lunie), his mother and father, one son and daughter-in-law, and many nieces and nephews are buried in the Flippen United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Papa Phillips was a very gentle, kind, loving man. Porter his son often said, "He was the best man that I ever knew."
Tom and Lunie also raised their grandchild, Grace Ann Morris/Phillips. Ann came to live with them when she was a few days old.
