THE PARIS NEWS, Tuesday, March 1, 1932: 'Funeral services for Mrs. Amanda E. Howard, 86, resident of Paris 22 years who died at 6:10 o'clock Monday afternoon at her residence 139 North Eleventh street were held at 2 o'clock Monday (sic) afternoon at Lamar Avenue Church of Christ with the minister, R. L. Colley, officiating. Burial was at Evergreen cemetery. Pallbearers were her surviving sons, O. W. and F. Howard of Paris; T. E. Howard of Charlotte, N. C.; J. W. Howard of Floydada, Homer Howard of Lockney, Edgar Howard of Monett, Missouri. Twelve grandchildren acted as Flower bearers. A resident of Paris for 22 years, Mrs. Howard had been a member of the church of Christ for 70 years. Her husband, Charles W. Howard died about three years ago.
