EUGENE C. BAUMAN, 79, of Fort Wayne died Sunday in St. Joseph Medical Center.

The Fort Jennings, Ohio, native retired in 1987 as production manager for Kunkle Valve Co. after 50 years, was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church, Fraternal Order of Eagles 248 and Loyal Order of Moose, and the widower of Florence E., who died in 1990.

Surviving are daughters, Donna J. Maroney and Carolyn L. Miguel, both of Fort Wayne; sons, Paul E. and David M., both of Fort Wayne; sisters, Hilda Scherman and Vicki Allen, both of Fort Wayne, Gertrude Schwertner of Delphos, Ohio, Rose Schwegler of Boca Raton, Fla., and Alvera Sakemikller of Columbus Grove, Ohio; brothers, Elmer of Lima, Ohio, and Albert of Fort Wayne; and seven grandchildren.

Services are 11 a.m. Thursday in the church, with burial in Catholic Cemetery. Calling is 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Ave., and 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday in the church. A vigil is at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Memorials are to the Visiting Nurse Service and Hospice Foundation or Masses.
