Our beloved father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Melvin Franklin Hunt, 85, passed away on January 13, 2012.

He was born June 17, 1926 in South Jordan, Utah to Albert James Hunt and Florence Maude Cooke. During his childhood he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and boxing. Melvin served in the United States Army 41st division, in the South Pacific, during World War II.

Upon returning home, he married Lois Elaine Parry on April 28, 1947 in Salt Lake City; later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on May 10, 1967. They were married fifty-six years.

Melvin was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Most of his working years were spent at Geneva Steel until his retirement in 1988. He enjoyed camping, working on cars, taking care of his yard, and fixing anything placed in front of him.

California was his favorite place to spend vacation with his family. The thing he loved most was being with his family and spending time with his eternal partner, Lois. He showed compassion and kindness to everyone, and was a loyal friend.
