Lawrence Cook Hunt 1924 ~ 2005 Lawrence Cook Hunt, 81, was born July 12, 1924 to Albert Hunt and Florence Cook in the town of South Jordan. Our loving, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away December 25, 2005 after a courageous battle against prostate cancer. Lawrence was born and raised in South Jordan with his two brothers and two sisters, survived by Melvin Hunt, and Alena Brown (Russell), and brother-in-law, Thayne Jensen; and preceded in death by George Hunt and Rebecca Jensen, and sister-in-law, Lois Hunt. He attended Jordan High School where he met his life long sweetheart and love of his life, Bonnie Parr. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple on December 11, 1945. Bonnie and Lawrence had just celebrated their 60th wedding Anniversary. Lawrence proudly served his country during World War II, serving in Africa, Italy, India, China, and the Pacific Campaigns. He was a machinist by trade and worked at Christenson Diamond Products until their closing. Lawrence then worked for Hercules Inc. until his retirement. Lawrence was very civic minded serving in many positions and filling a councilman seat for the City of West Jordan. He was an active member of the LDS Church and had served in many callings. Lawrence enjoyed being a Home Teacher. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the South Jordan Fire Department, and the Jordan Valley Hospital Emergency Room Staff during his time of need.
