Funeral services for Robert Roy Gosney, 63, were held Saturday afternoon at the Eugene Christian Church. The Rev. John Jenkins of Tuscumbia conducted the services. Interment was in the Eugene Cemetery with Phillips Funeral Home service. Military rites at the graveside were in charge of the American Legion posts of Eldon and Eugene.

Mr. Gosney died January 22 at Long Nursing Home at Lebanon. He suffered a stroke a week before his death.

The son of Robert R. and Mary Belle Dawson Gosney, he was born near Russellville October 2, 1889. His parents and two sisters preceded him in death.

Mr. Gosney spent most of his life in the Eldon and Eugene communities where he was engaged in farming. During World War I he served as a private with the 342nd Field Artillery, F.A., 79th division, receiving his discharge June 10, 1919.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Irene Gosney of Eldon; six children: Mrs. Edith Warren of Independence, Mrs., Alice Turner of Eldon, Bob Gosney of Waterloo, Iowa, Charles Gosney who is a senior at Drury College in Springfield, Wayne Gosney who is with the Air Force at Lackland Air Base, San Antonio, Tex., and Peggy Gosney of the home; seven grandchildren and two brothers, Dola Gosney of Wright City and Jasper Gosney of Jefferson City.
