Born to Dennis S. Swart & Lydia Huffman Swart. William married Etta Louise McEvers (1876-1954) on Sept. 29, 1895, in Garland, Bourbon County, KS. They lived at 314 S. Ozark in Girard, KS. William was a physician and surgeon.

One son, Willard Elmer Swart (1902-1978).

Dr. W. S. Swart, a native of Vernon county, Missouri, is the youngest of the Girard profession; was born in 1876; educated at Ft. Scott Normal and Barnes' Medical College, receiving his degree in 1899, and immediately located in Girard.

Girard, Dec. 20 -- Funeral services for Dr. W.S. Swart, 83, a practicing physician in Girard for more than half a century, who died Thursday morning, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Dorsey mortuary here with Rev. W.E. Babb and Rev. Virgil Feerer officiating. Masonic rites will be said at the graveside. Interment will be in the Girard cemetery.
