John W. Apsey, 62, Flint, died Thursday, Aug. 24, following a long illness.
Mr. Apsey was born Sept. 3, 1904 in Elk Township and moved to Flint in 1929.
He was a graduate of Peck high school and Alma College and was a school teacher for 41 years, teaching science for 37 years at Longfellow Junior High, retiring in 1966 because of ill health.
Survicing are his wife, the former Lela Fleckenger, two sons, John N. of Flint, and Charles G. Traverse city, a daughter, Mrs. Jeanne Hardenburg of Flushing; five grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Mervin (Verna) Ellis of Marlette.
Funeral services were held Monday in Reigel Funeral home. Sunset Chapel, Flint, by Rev. Robert McComb.
Burial was in Sunset Hills cemetery.
