Age 78 years and four months, a resident of Charleston, passed away Thursday January 12, 2012 at 9 p.m. in the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. Born September 12, 1933 in East Prairie to the late Earl & Ruth Stallings Brown, Dora Lee lived all of her life in Mississippi County where she was a retired teacher having taught school in the East Prairie and Charleston School Districts. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Charleston. On December 23, 1952 in St. Louis she married Ralph Adkisson who survives of the home. Survivors besides her husband include her son David of the home and his friend Trinka Hileman; her daughter Morgan; and their pet Bentley; two sisters, Jane Everett of Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania and Lenora Lynch of Canton, Illinois; a host of relatives and many friends. Besides her parents; one infant daughter, Martha Adkisson preceded Dora Lee in death. Friends may call from 12 noon Sunday until time of funeral services at 2 p.m. in the Shelby Chapel with Bro. Martin Lucas officiating. Burial will follow in the Odd Fellows Cemetery at Charleston. Shelby Funeral Home of East Prairie in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers will be Richard Haney, Max Carlyle, Richard Sutton, Harold Adkisson, David Adkisson and Leo Martin.
