NOTE: This Robert Sneed's middle name was NOT Sharp/Sharpe. That was the middle name of his grandfather, a soldier in the Revolutionary War, and his grand-uncle, Robert Sharp Sneed, Jr., referred to as "Sharp Sneed" in his father's will.

Robert Sneed's first wife was Editha Everret whom he marrried on July 24, 1845 in Blount County,Tennessee. They were the parents of Zachariah T., Lydia, Elizabeth, Thomas J. and John.

Robert's second wife was Sarah Russell whom he married on September 8, 1856 in Blount County, Tennessee. They were the parents of George W. Sneed.

His third wife was Edith "Eady" Adeline Webb whom he married on or about 1860 in Rhea County,Tennessee. They were the parents of William S., Andrew J., Samuel H.,Robert D., Amanda A., James R., Susan, Jeremiah M., Rachel I., Nash F., Pinkney A., and Joseph B.
