Mrs. Paul Hensel, 77, of 728 N. Ninth St., Manitowoc, died Tuesday at home after a lingering illness. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Grace Lutheran Church, Valders. The Rev. Louis Mielke of Shiocton will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Hensel was born July 26, 1890, at Howards Grove, daughter of the late Rev. Ferdinand and Laura Glaser Karth, and was married to the Rev. Paul Hensel Aug. 27, 1912, at Wauwatosa. The couple lived at a Lutheran mision(sic) at Tucson, Ariz., until 1916, when the Rev. Mr. Hensel became pastor of Trinity Lutheran church, Town of Liberty, where he
served 19 years. They moved to Manitowoc to reside.
Survivors are the husband, four sons, Rufus of St. Louis Mo., Philemon of Manitowoc, Daniel of Burr Oak, Wis., and Joel of Marion Springs, Mich., a brother, Martin of Shawano, a sister, Mrs. Lydia Schuelke of Valders and 13 grandchildren. Three sons and a daughter preceded her in death.
There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to Faith Life of the Protestant Conference. Christianson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
