Grant, Neb. - Alex Froschheiser, 87, died Saturday, December 23, 2000 at Perkins County Community Hospital in Grant, Neb.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, December 28, at 2 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church near Grant with Rev. Robert Pierce officiating. Burial was in Grant Cemetery. Bullock-Long Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Alex Froschheiser was born on June 3, 1913 at Lincoln, Neb., the son of Conrad and Elizabeth (York) Froschheiser. The family moved to a farm near Madrid, Neb. in 1920. Alex was married to Marie Rosenthal on October 3, 1933 at the Froschheiser home farm. The couple farmed for a brief time before moving to Lincoln, Neb. where Alex worked for the railroad. They returned to northern Perkins county in 1943, and Alex lived on the home farm until 1995 when he moved to Sunset Haven Housing in Grant. Marie died in 1988. Alex is survived by a daughter, Sharon (Ray) Sayers of Pine Bluffs, Wy.; a son, Ken (Joyce) of Thief River Falls; five grandchildren; two sisters, Marie Sibal of Ogallala, Neb. and Ruth (Al) Bushkovski of Denver, Colo.; and a brother, John (Rosella) of rural Ogallala, Neb. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, four sisters and two brothers.
