Mrs. Birdie Hansen Moore, 82, 676 E. 2nd S., died Wednesday afternoon at her home of natural causes. She was born May 26, 1883, in Provo, the daughter of Jorgen and Mary Nielsen Hansen.
She married Ernest Moore on Aug. 5, 1908, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died Jan. 30, 1941.
Mrs. Moore received her early education in the Provo schools. She worked for the old Bell Telephone Co. as an operator and then at the Utah State Hospital. She retired from the hospital in 1958. Mrs. Moore was an active member of the LDS Church in the Bonneville Ward where she was a teacher in the Relief Society and served in the presidency in the Primary. She was also an active member and served as captain of the Bonneville DUP Camp. She lived her entire life in Provo.
Survivors include one son and four daughters: Mrs. Lois M. McCoard and Mrs. LeGrande S. (Leah) Harris, Provo; Mrs. Keith R. (Marguerite) Thomas, Las Vegas, Nev.; Mrs. Chad W. (Colleen) Clark, San Mateo, Calif.; Stanley E. Moore, Orem; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three brothers and one sister, Calvin C., George G. and Julian J. Hansen, and Iona Johnson, all of Orem.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in the Berg Drawing Room Chapel in Provo under the direction of Bishop Brent C. Lindstrom of he Bonneville Ward. Friends may call at the mortuary Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday prior to services. Interment will be in the Provo City Cemetery.
