Born on August 13, 1926 in Plymouth, Illinois
a son of Clark and Mildred Wardell Cox, Larry married Wanda Jones who preceded him in death.
He later married Marj Newcomb Knight on
May 11, 1999 in Lake Tahoe, California;
she survives.
He owned & operated Cox Sawmill in Plymouth
Lawrence received an honorary diploma graduating with his granddaughter, Andrea
Cox, Class of 2004 Southeastern High School
He was a member of the Plymouth American Legion Post #912, a former member of Denver Masonic Lodge #464 AF & AM, Quincy Illinois Consistory, and the Ansar Shrine.
Mr. Cox served his country in the U.S. Army from Dec 8, 1944 until Dec 7, 1946 serving in the Southern Philippines & Luzon.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons:
Kenneth Cox, wife Rose of Plymouth
Kelly Cox,wife Sherry of Augusta, Illinois
Three step children:
Kenton Knight III, wife Solonge of Mesa, AZ
Kimberly Knight of Burlington, IA
Kristine Knight of Sarasota, FL

Kady Cox, Emily Cox & Collin Cox

Mr. Cox was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, and a brother, Robert Cox.
Funeral services will be held Friday morning(Jan 13, 2012) at 11:00 at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Augusta;
Rev. Kevin Lingenfelter officiating
Burial with military honors at Davenport Cemetery on the Cox farm near Augusta.
Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Augusta.
