Charlie (Jack) Batten, 61, of Rt.6 died in a Charlottesville Hospital May19,1978.
An employee of the Blue Ridge Sanitorium, Mr. Batten was born in Albemarle County Jan 31, 1917, the son of the late John Edward and Florence Walton Batten. He is survived by his wife Edith Swanson Batten of Charlottesville' a daughter Miss Jackie Batten of Charlottesville; four stepdaughter, Mrs. Linda Lawson, Mrs. Diana Sensabaugh, Mrs. Terry Crawford and Miss. Mitz all of Charlottesville, a stepson Terry Santana, one sister Mrs. Polly Gibson of Charlottesville: four brother, Vernon Batten, Russell Batten and Herbert Batten all of Charlottesville, and John ( Balgie) Batten of White Hall, and four grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 2p.m, Monday at the Mt. Moriah United Methodist Church with Rev. Douglas Kenny officiating.
Interment will be in the Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Joseph W. Teague Funeral Home.
