A Confederate Soldier that served in Company L, 21st Reg. Inf., SC Volunteers, Confederate States Army. Note: there are 3 Confederates with the initials J.B. Collins buried at or near this cemetery. Unsure exactly where he is buried, but this is more than likely his grave.

Killed on Darbytown Rd, Va. June 16, 1864 during the Siege of Petersburg, VA (14,000 Confederates faced over 50,000 Federals on that morning, see attached photo). Exact burial unknown (probably buried in a mass grave at this cemetery). He was one of 4 brothers that served in the CSA with only 1 survivor (Sgt. Edward Collins 1830-1901).
