Mrs. Justice H. Robertson whose maiden name was Martha Virginia Earp, was born in Ohio county, Ky., Feb. 1, 1847, and calmly as a child lying down sleep she departed this life April 4th, 1905.

She was the eldest of a large family and came with her parents, John and Dorcas Earp and located on a farm about 5 miles north of here in 1857, where she grew to womanhood and was married on April 19, 1867, and to this union were born four children all of whom survive her; Walter living on a farm north of this place, Luther and Robert living in St. Louis, and Mrs. Maggie Warren, who was at her bed-side during her sickness.

Her complaint was a compilation of diseases, hard for physicians to to understand, and which caused her to suffer much, but with kind and untiring hands to render such help as they deemed might lighten her pain, she bore with great resignation. Hard it must be for the sorrowing ones who are called upon to mourn the loss of wife, mother, daughter and sister. Weep not dear ones, her storm of life is passed. Look further than the mere threshold, and speak to each other the precious words of Jesus. "Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.

She united with the M. E. Church South, at the age of 14 years, and although not being able physically to attend the meetings, she has ever kept the vows she took and her life has been filled with virtues.

Deceased has been almost a constant sufferer for many months, during which time nothing was spared that contained one ray of hope for her relief. Loved ones watched day and night in the vain hopes of alleviating her sufferings but when they thought she was quiet and would rest, it was the death angel knocking at the door, and her torture--racked soul took its flight.

Besides husband and children she leaves an aged mother, five sister and four brothers to mourn her untimely demise.

The funeral service took place at the Baptist church, conducted y the pastor Rev. T. M. Green, at 11 a. m. Thursday, April 6th, 1905. Sympathy is extended by the entire community.

J. M. Earp of Lamar, Mo., and W. L. Earp of Shelden, Mo., attended the funeral of their sister, Mrs. J. H. Robertson, at this place Thursday.

Luther and Robert Robertson came up from St. Louis to attend the funeral of their mother, which took place in this city Thursday.
