The New City Methodist Church noted that worship was conducted for a time in the home of Isaac Jones -- a small house off W. Clarkstown Rd. In 1833 a church was built on Samuel Bisset's property above the intersection of New Hempstead and Phillips Hill Rds. In 1898 a church was built off Maple Ave., New City. Worship was conducted there for 64 years. The present sanctuary was completed in 1959.
