Funeral services for Mary Lee Alford Harris, 91, were held Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012, in Forest Grove Christian Church with Pastor Jim Platt officiating. Graveside services followed in Forest Grove Cemetery.

Mrs. Harris died Friday, Jan. 27, 2012 in Fort Worth.

She was born Nov. 22, 1920, in Milam County to Emery James and Annie (Matthews) Alford.

Mrs. Harris was a graduate of Rockdale High School.

After graduation, she moved to Fort Worth where she met and married Henry Alvin Harris on Sept. 2, 1949.

Mrs. Harris retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. in 1981 after over 35 years.

She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Alvin Harris on Feb. 12, 1979; a son, Kenneth D. Harris on Aug. 30, 1998; three brothers, Billy Alford, Emery Alford and Jack Alford; and three sisters, Lucille Young, Dixie Cleveland and Annie McKee.

Survivors are a son, a daughter, a sister, five grandchildren, also, many nieces and nephews.
