Services for H. C. "Blue" Pender, 3308 NW 64, will be at 2 pm Thursday, at Rose Hill Masoleum. He died Monday while visiting San Diego, CA. Pender, an educator, was born in Paris, TX, and moved to Oklahoma City about 1948. He had been a professor of government at Central State University (now University of Central Oklahoma).

He was educated at North State University at Denton, TX, the University of Iowa at Iowa City, and George Washington University at Washington, DC. He received his master's degree from the latter. Before moving to Oklahoma, Pender had been head of the Government Department at Texas Technological College at Lubbock, TX, for 18 years and later established an insurance company in Denton, TX.

He was a member of Northwest Baptist Church, and taught a Bible class. He was also a Maon and a Lions Club member. He is survived by his wife, Ann; three daughters, Mrs Sue Rainey, and Mrs Jo Lawson, both of Dallas; and Mrs Wyatt Watson of San Diego, CA; brother, Joe of Denton; and four grandchildren.
