Orville D. Ahrens, 75, of Lincoln died Sunday, Jan. 8, 2012, at his home. Orville was born April 29, 1936, in Shelton to George and Elsie (Ohlmann) Ahrens.

On Nov. 2, 1984, he married Carolyn McKenzie in Garland.

Survivors are: wife; daughters, Jodi (Ahrens) Muratella and her husband, Daniel, of Lincoln and Tammie Ahrens of Paola, Kan.; son, Jeffrey Ahrens of Branson, Mo.; stepson, Allan Silvers and his wife, Cheryl, of Las Vegas; stepdaughter, Debra Silvers of Lincoln; grandson, Tyler Ahrens of Lincoln; stepgranddaughters, Shelbie and Shayla Silvers of Las Vegas; brother, Roger and his wife, Mary Ann, of Kearney; sisters, Loretta Hadlock of Gibbon and Mae Truesdale of Sedalia, Mo.; sister-in-law, LaDonna Ahrens of Kearney; and many nieces and nephews.

Orville grew up in the Shelton and Kearney areas and graduated from Kearney High School.

Orville served with the U.S. Army at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii.

Orville worked for many trucking firms and retired from Consolidated Freightways in Nashville after 25 years of service.

Orville was a member of Christ Lutheran Church.

Orville was preceded in death by: parents; brother, LaVern Ahrens; and brother-in-law, Eli Truesdale.

Burial was in the Lincoln Memorial Park, Lincoln, NE.
