Sutherland was a self-employed carpenter.
Surviving are one son, Leonard LeRoy Sutherland, with whom he made his borne; one daughter, Mrs. Betty Jean Mowery of Waynesboro; three brothers, Walter L. and L.A. Sutherland, both of Staunton, and C.O. Sutherland of Verona; one sister, Mrs. Margaret S. Blackwell of Staunton; granddaughter, Cynthia Vincent of Seattle, Wash.
A graveside service will be conducted today in Oak Lawn Memory Gardens. Arrangements were handled by Henry Funeral Home.
