John Thomas Carroll, 83, Grahn, died Thursday in King's Daughters' Hospital following an extended illness.

Mr. Carroll was born Dec. 4, 1890, in Carter County, a son of the late Jeff and Mary Debord Carroll. His wife,
Mrs. Ethel Carroll died in 1970.

Surviving are two sons, Clifford Carroll
of Ashland and Clayton Carroll of Mansfield, O.; three daughters, Mrs. Jerlea
Ramsey and Mrs. Lacy Lee, both of Grahn, and Mrs. Inez Stewart of New Boston,
O.; two brothers, Earl and Charles Carroll, both of Grahn; a sister, Mrs.
Dollie Diedrick of Portsmouth; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and a
great-great-grandson.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Grahn Nazarene Church by the Rev. R. L. Sallie. Burial will be in Carroll Cemetery.

The body has been taken from the Leslie A. Henderson Funeral Home in Olive Hill to the residence where friends may call after 6 p.m. today.
