"Funeral services held at 2:00 o'clock Thursday afternoon in West's funeral parlor for Robert J. West, 65 years old, a business man who died Tuesday in his home in Sioux City after a long sickness. Rev. F. B. Shaner officiated and interment will be in Floyd cemetery when the weather permits.


Mr. Barrett was engaged in the stone cutting business in Sioux City for many years and supplied stone for many of the buildings now housing Sioux City business concerns. Born in London, March 16, 1867, he came to Toronto, Canada, with his parents when he was a child. In 1887 he came to Sioux City and established himself in the stone cutting business. He was a charter member of the Rotary club and member of the Knights of Pythias, Yoemen, Knights and Ladies of Security lodges.


Surviving Mr. Barrett are his widow and three sons, Robert, George and Ralph, all of Sioux City." Emerson Tri-County Press (Emerson, Nebraska), February 9, 1933
