Darrell William Absher, age 67 of Richlands, Virginia, passed away Saturday, January 7, 2012 at his home. Born July 28, 1944 in Richlands, Virginia he was the son of Sadie Cordill Absher of Richlands, Virginia and the late Willie Lloyd Absher.

In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his first wife, Bertina Ruth Absher; his second wife, Ruby Joyce Absher; one brother, Melvin Absher; and two granddaughters, Taylor Elizabeth Grace Absher and Jennifer Bertina Sparks.

He is survived by two daughters, Laura Patricia Absher Boone and husband Grant of Warren, OH and Melissa Sparks and husband Matthew of Newton, NC; two sons, Darrell Wayne Absher and wife Mandi of Hickory, NC and David William Absher and wife Jennifer of Richlands, VA; three step-children, Howard Bartee, Tabby Arms and Wanda Massaro; five sisters, Peggy Brown of Doran, VA, Carol Roberts of Wytheville, VA, Shirley Richardson of Swords Creek, VA, Judy Helbert of Richlands, VA and Debbie Grimmett of Richlands, VA; two brothers, Jim Absher of Richlands, VA and Billy Absher of Richlands, VA; 21 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at Singleton Funeral Service Chapel at Cedar Bluff, Virginia with Rev. Andrew Blankenship and Rev. Charlie Absher officiating. Burial will follow in the Ball Cemetery at Road Ridge, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Keith Absher, Jim Ed Richardson, Rodney Dowdy, Michael Hunnell, Mickey Hunnell, Shane Hunnell and Brian Ramsey.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 P.M. Tuesday at Singleton Funeral Service at Cedar Bluff, Virginia.
