McCoy-Ogg Reunion
The first reunion of the McCoy-Ogg families - to be made an annual event - was held Saturday, August 25, at the home of Mr and Mrs John F Rist at Cross Roads, Bullskin township, Fayette county, Pa, with about fifty of the members of the clan in attendance. At the business session in the afternoon it was decided to hold the 1929 reunion at the same place the third Thursday of August. A St Clair Ogg of Swissvale was elected president of the organization; Cedric J Ritenour of Uniontown, vice-president; Quint W Rist of Cross Roads, secretary and treasurer. President Ogg named two commities - sports and entertainment, and publicity. On the sports-entertainment committee were Clifford Ogg and Miss Adeline Wiley of Irwin. Miss Evelyn Elder of Pitcarn, Mrs Eva Leasure of Rillton and Herbert Ogg of Swissvale. W S Stimmel of Connellsville was chosen to chairman of the publicity committee. At noon picnic dinner were served, while from the abundance of the supply in the baskets another meal was provided in the evening. Much of the day was given over to reminiscences. Young people in the group provided a musical program. In all it was a happy occasion.
