Jewell Elizabeth Vickery Graydon, 83, of 121 Richbourg Drive, died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2005.

Born in Greenville, S.C., she was the daughter of the late William Walker Vickery and Ida Massey Vickery and grew up in the Judson community.

Mrs. Graydon was a professional florist who owned Wade Hampton Florist for 40 years. After her retirement she worked in various grocery stores and worked up until her death.

She was an active member of White Oak Baptist where she belonged to the Faith Sunday school class. She was also a member of the Aurora Club. She also arranged the flowers for the church.

Surviving are her son, David Graydon, Jr. and daughter, Elizabeth Peery and her husband Tom, all of Greenville; brother, H.W. Vickery of Berea, S.C.; sister, Essie Grant of Laurens, S.C.; and four grandchildren, Erin, Emily, Elissa and Jacob Peery.

Preceding her in death were her brothers, Elvis, Ed, and Harris Vickery, and sisters, Myrtle Gibson and Bert Knect.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2005, at 3 p.m. at The Mackey Mortuary with the Rev. Jim Bates officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary.

The family will be at 121 Richbourg Drive.
