Great Cacapon, W.Va. - Wilma Almeta Farris, 88, of Great Cacapon, died Friday, Nov. 7, 2003, at her home.

Born April 11, 1915, in Great Cacapon, she was the daughter of the late James Randolph and Elizabeth Catherine Dawson Spriggs. Her husband, Cecil James Farris, died July 17, 2001. She attended public schools in Magnolia, W.Va. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Great Cacapon.

She is survived by a son, John W. Farris of Terra Alta, W.Va.; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by an infant daughter; a son, Guy W. Farris; two sisters, Velda I. Bohrer and Teresa E. Dawson; and three brothers, Harry E. Spriggs, James C. Spriggs and Beverly T. Spriggs.

Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Helsey-Johnson Funeral Home in Berkeley Springs, W.Va. Pastor Wayne Frum and Pastor Steve Dawson will officiate. Burial will be in Great Cacapon Cemetery, Great Cacapon.

The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, which will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. for the convenience of friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Panhandle, 122 Waverly Court, Martinsburg, WV 25401, or to Great Cacapon Cemetery, in care of Louise Spring, P.O. Box 205, Great Cacapon, WV 25422.
