LENOIR - Paul H. Parsons, 72, of Shasta Lane, died February 3, 2001, at Caldwell County Hospice. Born September 23, 1928, in Wilkes County, he was a son to the late Rudy B. and Martha Griffin Parsons. He served in the U.S. Navy and Merchant Marines. He was preceded in death by three brothers; and a sister. Survivors included his wife, Ruth Stories Parsons; three sons, Douglas Parsons of Raleigh, Barry Parsons of Lenoir and Jeffrey Parsons of Lenoir; three brothers, Burl Parsons, Benny Parsons and Doyle Parsons of Lenoir; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted by the Revs. Tom Brittain and Joe Parker 11 a.m. Monday at Pendry's Lenoir Funeral Home. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Caldwell County Hospice, 902 Kirkwood St., Lenoir, N.C. 28645; or Hudson United Methodist church, 383 Main St., Hudson, N.C. 28645.
