When John King was born on August 26, 1730, in Raynham, Massachusetts, his father, Captain Phillip King, was 28 and his mother, Abigail Williams, was 23. He married Catherine or Katherine Leonard on January 13, 1755, in his hometown. John was Captain of the Militia at the seige of Boston, along with his sons. [1] He raised and equipped a company at his own expense.[2] He died on March 6, 1814, in his hometown, having lived a long life of 83 years, and was buried there.
