Conrad and Hannah were 'Mormons' when they were in the transition between Nauvoo, Hancock, Illinois and the Great Salt Lake Valley in the western desert. Conrad Carried mail from the exiled Saints and the remaining saints in Nauvoo. I am sure among many other things, he had to do just to survive from day to day, in newly populated land, for food, clothing and shelter, during cold winter months, and no support from 'last years crops.' When he was stricken with some kind of fever. (possible yellow fever) and left Hannah Johnson Wheaton Huffman Staley widowed again.

. Family history states that Conrad's dying wish, was for his second Hannah to continue with the rest of his family onto the 'Zion' in the Great Salt Lake Valley.
-I do know Margret, Merritt, Chester, from Hannah Trip made it to the Valley.
.Merrit made him proud by helping settle new territories in Arizona and Mexico before dying in Mexico 10 May 1895.

.Chester helped settle Summit county, then died in a Tragic Wagon Accident, months after his wife had passed. About 3 of his children survived the Accident the eldest being 14 and saw his father die in his arms.
Chester Staley

. Margaret died in Summit County,
Margaret Staley Huffman

.John, Conrad Hamel, with step brother Henry W. Wheaton accompanied their Mother to the Great Salt Lake Valley. Hannah Johnson Wheaton Huffman Staley was not a week woman. She made the trek across the prairie with three young sons, arriving in 1852 in the David Wood Company. She settled in Summit County as well.

.Sarah Ann, Eliza and Sydney I do not know yet where or when they passed.
---------------------------------------
NOTE: These details of {dates and places] are from New Familysearch. Hannah Tripp is listed as being born: in Grand Island, Ontario Canada. I can not find Grand Island in any of the Canadian Providences.
She is listed as Dying in Magnolia, Harrison, Iowa, so that is what I put here.
If she died in 1834, The 'Mormons' had not gone into Iowa until 1846. Maybe 1845 on scouting missions. So I am thinking she may have died between Kirkland and Nauvoo.
-I know Conrad died somewhere along those early settlements; Closer to 1847 then 1850.
