Strokes Fatal to Fritz Vornsand;Buried Tuesday
Funeral services were held at Hubbard Funeral Home Tuesday afternoon for Fritz Vornsand,75-year-old retired farmer,with the Rev.Charles Bawel,pastor of Weimar United Church of Christ,officiating.
Mr.Vornsand died early Monday morning,May 16,at his home after a lingering illness.He had had two strokes.
Born Nov.16,1884,in Germany,he was the son of Wilhelm and Johanna Rogge Vornsand.He was Baptized in the Lutheran faith.The family came to America when he was a small child,settling near Holman and later moving to Shiner.He married Miss Lena Laturnus in May 1910,and one daughter was born to this union.His wife died in 1911.On Nov.28,1918,he married Miss Johanna Cordes at Moulton and one son was born to them.The family moved to Weimar in 1921 and settled in the Wildwood community.
Thirteen years ago Mr.Vornsand retired from farming,and he and his wife moved to the edge of town,to live with his son.
Pallbearers were Chas. Flessner,Walter Schmidt,Albert Vornsand,Alvin Vornsand,Walter Vornsand and Irddie J. Vornsand.
