Terry Bradford

ERWIN — Terry Bradford, age 59, 149 Bradford Lane, Erwin, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, January, 5, 2012, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Mr. Bradford was a native of Unicoi County and a son of the late Andy Roscoe and Pearl Hensley Bradford.

He was a long time member of Mountain Dale Freewill Baptist Church, where he served as deacon and taught the Men's Sunday School Class. Mr. Bradford also proudly taught within the Unicoi County School System for 32 years. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of Masonic Lodge 461 F&AM.

In addition he served his country as a member of the United States Army Reserves.

Other than his parents, Mr. Bradford was preceded in death by a son, Nolan Shaun Bradford, in 1992; and a brother, Doug Bradford, in 2009.

Mr. Bradford is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 33 years, Debbie Davis Bradford; two brothers: Scott Bradford and wife, Wilma, Erwin, and Duane Bradford and wife, Tracy, Jonesborough; two sisters: Lois Ann Bradford, Erwin, and Edna Muriel Portilia and husband, Dennis, Belleair. FL; a very special great nephew, Bodhi Bradford; father and mother-in-law, Ted and Barbara Davis; numerous other nieces and nephews also survive.

The funeral service for Terry Bradford will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, January 8, 2012, from the Mountain Dale Freewill Baptist Church. The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to the service.

Interment will be immediately following in the Bradford Cemetery. Reverend Tommy Hensley and Reverend Kevin Laws will officiate. Special music will be provided by David and Damaris Higgins.

Active Pallbearers will be Charlie Baxter, Richard Bo Shadden, Rusty Edwards, Dennis Clarke, Dustin Higgins, Lauren McNutt and Bodhi Bradford. The deacons of Mountain Dale Freewill Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM Saturday evening at the Robert Ledford Funeral Home Chapel and other times at the residence.

In addition to floral donations those wishing to make a charitable contribution in Terry's memory may do so to the American Cancer Society, 508 Princeton Road, Suite 102 Johnson City, TN 37601; and St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
