BEVERLY - Rita Kaye Cunningham, 81, of Fairview Avenue, Beverly, died at 8:40 a.m. Sunday (Feb. 1, 2009) at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
She was born July 8, 1927, in Morgan County, Ohio, a daughter of Theodore and Cleo Silvus Motz. She was a homemaker. She graduated from Reinersville High School in 1945. She was a member of Smith Chapel United Methodist Church at Hackney.
She is survived by her husband, Leo Cunningham, whom she married on June 5, 1948; a sister-in-law, Mary Motz, and a niece, Jill Motz, of McConnelsville, Ohio; and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Harry Motz.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday (Feb. 4, 2009) at McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly with the Rev. Karl Kesselring officiating. Burial will be in Beverly Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to the Beverly-Waterford Rescue Squad.
