Doreen C. Meehan was born on September 20, 1927 at Athol, South Dakota to James Henry and Ruth Luella Sparling Meehan. She graduated from Ashton High School, Ashton, South Dakota. On March 29, 1945, she married John Anderson at Watertown, South Dakota. Following their marriage they lived in San Antonio, Texas where her husband was serving in the armed services. Following his discharge they returned to live in South Dakota near Frankfort. In 1952, they moved to Huron, South Dakota. Doreen was associated with the First United Methodist Church, and was a member of the United Methodist Women. She had been active for many years the Girl Scouts. Survivors include her husband, John, of Huron, daughters Gayanne Anderson and her husband Larry Morrissette of Maple Grove, Minnesota, and Mary Susan Berg of Huron, son Donald Anderson of Huron; three grandchildren, Charlotte, Ryan and Paige, all of Huron; sister Mary Keller of Redfield, South Dakota and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, David John; a daughter, Carolyn; brother, James Edward Meehan; two sisters, Nina Patrick and Esther Groft. Funeral services are Saturday November 11, 1995 at 10:30 AM at the First United Methodist Church, Huron, South Dakota with Dr. Richard Rinearson officiating. Burial will be at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery, Huron South Dakota. Arrangements by Kuhler Funeral Home.
