AIKEN - Services for Carolyn Pittman Talbert Marvin, 82, of 815 Spring Drive SW,
died October 18, 2001 at her residence.
She was first married to the late Steve Earnhardt Talbert, Sr. and then married Charles H. Marvin Jr. and moved to Aiken in 1951.
Mrs. Marvin was a member of First Presbyterian Church, a member of Circle 2, member of an interdenominational Bible Study. During the summer, she participated in Faith Chapel and Bible Study at Rocky Hill Baptist Church in Cedar Mountain, N.C. Mrs. Marvin was an avid bridge player and played weekly in several groups. Born and raised in Macon, Ga., Mrs. Marvin won the Miss Burlington contest and attended Catawba College in Salisbury, N.C. She was a buyer for the baby department of Sellars Department Store in Burlington, N.C. She was also the Chairman of Culture for Sorta Sixties Club, a member of Green Gardeners Garden Club. Mrs. Marvin loved people and enjoyed making them laugh. She had a joke for every occasion.
Surviving are children, Beth M. Daniel, Aiken, Cissy Bankhead, Texas, James C. Marvin, Charles H. Marvin III, Steve E. Talbert, Gregory P. Marvin, all of Aiken; 18 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren.
