AIKEN, S. C., March 20. - Dr. E. Holbrook Wyman, 58, mayor of Aiken, died at the residence 1128 Laurens street, at 5 o'clock this afternoon. His death was sudden.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday morning at 11 o'clock at the Aiken Presbyterian church, with the Rev. F. Gault Robertson officiating. Burial will be in Bethany cemetery.
A practicing dentist here, Dr. Wyman was serving his second term as mayor, an office to which he was first elected in 1942. He had been a member of the city council of Aiken since 1932.
Native of Hampton county, Dr. Wyman was a son of Dr. J. Frampton Wyman and Rosamond Hack Wyman.
He was a member and elder of the Aiken Presbyterian church, member of the Aiken Rotary club, Aiken Businessman's Club, American Legion, past president of the South Carolina Dental association, director of the South Carolina Municipal Officials association and the Aiken Masonic Lodge, No, 156. He was also a veteran of World War I.
Surviving him are his wife, Mrs. Helen Dye Wyman; a daughter, Mrs. Fred Shealy, Seneca, S. C.; two sons, E. Holbrook Wyman, Jr., and Lewis Dye Wyman, both of Aiken; two sisters, Mrs. Vincent Wyman and Mrs. George A. Durban, Sr., also of Aiken; two grandchildren, Rosamond Shealy and Fred Shealy, Jr,. Seneca.
