Carolyn Campbell Pendray, 1881-1958. The first female to serve in the Iowa Legislature. "Caddie" was born in Mount Pleasant and received her early education in Mount Pleasant. She was elected to the Legislature from Jackson County. Carolyn Campbell Pendray was inducted into the Iowa Woman's Hall of Fame in 1978.
