Commissioned on August 19, 1862, at Binghamton, New York, as a captain, age 39 years. On October 10, 1862 he was assigned to Co. I, 109th New York Infantry. Promoted to major, March 8, 1865, but not mustered.
Mustered out at Delaney House, Washington, DC, on June 4, 1865.

Pension: Widow (Julia) filed pension request 9/27/1884, Application 319831.

Researchers Note: It is probably that the widow, Julia, moved back to New York after the death of her husband and filed the pension request from that state.
