Elmer Aaberge


     Elmer Aaberge, 81, of Gresham, Oregon died in Portland on May 24, 1989. He was born Nov. 28, 1907 in McMurray, Washington to Ludwig and Anna Aaberge. He was married to Bertha A. Engebretson in Conrad, Montana on June 24, 1933. She preceded him in death on Sept. 19, 1988.


     Mr. Aaberge was a retired mechanic for the John Deere Co. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Freeland; the Saratoga Community Club; Over "50" Club; Langley Masonic Lodge 218, F&AM; and FOE Lodge. He had lived in Gresham for the past three years and formerly lived in Freeland for many years.


     Survivors include a son, Ernest Aaberge of Milwaukie, Oregon; two daughters, Lila Tarsey of Honolulu, Hawaii and Donna Porter of Mankton, Maryland, also six grandchildren; one great grandchildren; and two brothers, Lewis Aaberge of Conrad, Montana and Kenneth Aaberge of Libby, Montana.


     Funeral services were held May 30 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Clair Grube, officiating. Interment was in the Bayview Cemetery.


Arrangements were under the direction of Hedgcock-Visser Funeral Home in Langley. SHB
